Preparing Time: 10 minutes, plus maximum of 6 hours marinating time
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Serves: 6 - 8

Bring your BBQ to life with these delicious Sticky BBQ Wings. The smoky blend of flavours really brings out the best of British chicken.

Choose British chicken with the Red Tractor and Union Jack on pack and you’ll know that you’re getting fresh, local birds that are fully traceable back to independently inspected British farms. Or ask your butcher if it’s British.

Ingredients

6 British chicken wings
Extra-virgin olive oil

Marinade
5 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
1 clove garlic, crushed
4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3 tsp Tabasco sauce
2 tsp Dijon mustard
2 tsp paprika

Method

1. Whisk together all the ingredients, except the chicken and olive oil, to form the marinade.

2. Place the chicken wings in a large, resealable plastic bag and pour in the marinade. Press the air out of the bag and seal tightly. Turn the bag so the wings are evenly coated. Refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours, turning occasionally. This can also be done in a large bowl, but can take more room in the fridge.

3. Remove the wings from the bag and discard the marinade. Lightly brush or spray the wings with olive oil and thread onto two parallel skewers

4. Cook without moving, over a medium heat for 6-8 minutes until well marked. Continue cooking over a medium heat for approximately 10 – 12 minutes, until the meat is no longer pink at the bone. Serve warm.

Top tip: When BBQing, always make sure the chicken is cooked thoroughly before eating. To check this, pierce the plumpest part of the flesh and make sure the juices run clear. If not, cook further.
